My own ongoing weight loss journey – no, roller coaster ride – has led me to study nutrition and health coaching at The Institute for Integrative Nutrition, the world’s largest nutrition school.  I wanted to know the secrets and formulas to weight loss and health and help other women lose weight too.  I wanted real answers from credible health experts, not another “Ten easy ways you can melt your unsightly muffintop” article in a magazine filled with Photoshopped anorexic models.  I already know the ten “easy” ways and they don’t work for me.  My food cravings are real; I can’t just will them away.  And I’m sick of all the body-shaming; where does this negative self-talk come from anyway?  Do you feel the same?

Let me share with you what I’ve learned so far.  Like unicorns, there is no such thing as a weight loss secret.  That new miracle diet that made your friend look like a skinny model might not do the same for you; you can stop being jealous now, she is probably craving the biggest cheeseburger in the world.  All those expensive diet pills being sold on dodgy websites will not make you love your body.  My dear, there is no quick fix.

The truth is also that weight loss is not just about food or exercise.  Surprised?  Me too.  I’ve learned that losing weight is not only about what you eat, but what’s eating you: what is keeping you from getting quality sleep, why are you so stressed, why is your metabolism out of whack and what happened that made you hate your beautiful body so much?


You are unique, and so is your body.  This is why that diet works for your friend but not for you.  Your bodies are different, inside and out.  You might feel sluggish and bloated after eating that whole wheat sandwich at the coffee shop, but your friend who ate the exact same sandwich, might feel energized afterwards.  One person’s food is another person’s poison.  Your body knows perfectly well how to heal itself – it is in our nature – you just need to figure out what your body needs to do the healing.

As your Health Coach I will help you to make sense of all the weight loss and nutrition information out there.  I will help you to figure out what your food cravings mean.  Together we will create a completely personalised roadmap to health that suits your unique body, personality, preferences and goals.  I practice a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means that I look at how all areas of your life are connected.  As we work together, we will look at how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole, and I will help you to set in motion sustainable habits that will truly nourish your body and soul.

My approach is not to focus on calories, or even to create lists of restrictions or good and bad foods.  We’ve been there, we’ve got the t-shirts.  Instead, I work with my clients to create a happy, healthy life in a way that is flexible, fun and rewarding.  Together we will work, step by step, to reach your health goals.  You will develop a deeper and loving understanding of your body and the food and lifestyle choices that nourish you.

The Fermentation Workshop

In this workshop I will teach you how to make your own Kombucha, Milk Kefir and Milk Kefir “Cheese”, Coconut Milk Yoghurt and fermented vegetables, like sauerkraut.
